This project came out of a bid process that was restricted to several architecture studios. Our company was awarded the project.
The needs document described a tourist establishment with 146 single-bedroom accommodation units, plus their corresponding common areas were restaurant services also had to be contemplated. Likewise, we had to try to obtain views to the west from the apartments. The plot is located about 350 metres from the coast, inside the Golf del Sur urbanisation. The presence of taller buildings hinders it from having outstanding views of the sea.
We propose to generate interior landscaping to catch one’s eye, with guests isolating themselves from the surroundings through a plant-filled oasis and a water feature crossing the plot from east to west. The building is arranged in three blocks. One of them is two storeys and is where the common areas are located, standing tall over the most representative street of the development, plus apartment blocks on either side. To maximise the orientation of the terraces towards the sunset, the individual accommodation units are slightly rotated with respect to the blocks themselves.
