The requirements called for the construction of a home/studio to hold the current headquarters of our company. The building reminds us of a garden city in two modules of one and two storeys. The space features an open, flexible, and multifunctional nature in which the only compartmentalised rooms are the plumbed areas and the single bedroom. The basement is used as an archive and reprography area.
In terms of landscaping, the interior open areas are as broad as possible, wrapping the building to maximise privacy both with respect to the road and to the rest of the adjoining plots. Likewise, it combines ground covering plants, shrubs, and tree species and even keeps the pre-existing laurel intact.
The building exemplifies our company’s commitment to bio-climatically efficient architecture: all the windows have wooden shutters that protect against the sun’s rays, and there is also a 63 m3 cistern to water the garden plus a 4.86 kW rooftop photovoltaic panel installation which makes us practically self-sufficient in terms of energy.
